Babak Kamkar – optometrist, inventor
Babak Kamkar is a practicing optometrist, entrepreneur, and inventor. His formal education includes Doctor of Optometry from Southern California College of Optometry and the undergraduate major in bioengineering from the University of California, San Diego. He has invested in commercial real estate, optometry practices, home health agency, and startups. Dr. Kamkar is the inventor and patent holder of a pupil testing device, marketed under the name APD Tester™. Dr. Kamkar is one of a few optometrists in California with the additional certification as a Qualified Medical Evaluator (Q.M.E.), and has an active medical-legal practice. He is a co-founder of SIG.
